Here I sit on January 1, 2013 and I am thinking back over the past year. I have had some big successes and some failures. I think that 2012 would have been the best year ever if I would have done just a few things different.
When I look at my successes I see that I was doing certain things that are the core money making tasks in my business and I was doing them consistently. When I was struggling or failing, looking back I was either not doing the money making tasks consistently or not doing them at all.
Momentum is a big thing and I believe that it is true in all things. It is so hard to push a car. It is so heavy and you push and push and then it starts to roll slowly at first but as it gets going it becomes easier and picks up speed. Once you get it rolling you don?t need to push that hard to keep it going. But let is stop and you have to start all over again and push hard and strain yourself to get it rolling again.
Well that is the same with this business. You have to work hard and get it rolling and then keep it going. If you do the steps consistently then it will roll along. If you stop you have to start all over again. This is even more true if you are doing anything online.
You know I like to think of myself as a successful network marketer but when I look back over this year I see how I could have been so much more successful if I would have just done the few steps consistently. When I am asked to look at other people?s business when they are having trouble this is the very first thing I look for but I see that it is not just a new business owner?s problem but a problem that we all face.
In our business there are only a few steps that you have to do to become successful. You need to become good at inviting people to your business presentation and then you need to follow up with them, then sign them up and train them to do the same things that you are doing. It really is that simple.
So why then are so many people struggling or failing in their Network Marketing business? Well it comes down to a few things. First is your mindset. We are not brought up to be an entrepreneur or even a business owner. We are trained our whole life to be an employee. You need to change the way you look at things and remember that this is your business and NO ONE is going to do it for you. I work closely with the new people in my business until they get the hang of it but I don?t do it for them. They must get off the couch and do the work themselves.
Second is you have to really want the success more that the discomfort that it will take to get there. You see everyone wants to be rich or maybe even famous but not everyone becomes that way. Why? Well the people that become rich have a reason why they want to get rich that is so much bigger than ?I want to be rich? you see if that is all that it took was to want to be rich then everyone would be rich.
Third is personal development. You have to work on you. People want to work with people that know what they want and where they are going. People that are leaders and are willing to go there first, I have met so many people that are so called leaders and they are not teaching what they are doing. Many have had a large amount of influence in the market place and so just because they are doing something then other want to do it also. Well, if you don?t have that kind of influence then you won?t be able to have that kind of success and you can?t teach that or learn that.
You need a proven system of what works and others in your upline are doing and having success with. I only teach what I do and what is working for me and my team. I have heard that the old ways of building a network marketing business does not work. Well, that is the only way that I know of that you can build a large team of committed people all working together for a common cause. I don?t know one person in network marketing that has only built their business using online methods. I have known a few that have gotten huge teams but they are constantly loosing people and having to replace them.
Now I am not saying that you won?t lose people from your team the old fashion way, because you will that is a fact. But if you qualify them the right way you will lose far fewer then the drag net of the internet. I only want to work with people that I like and are really serious. You see I want people to have fun with on the beach, People to ride mountain bikes with during the weekdays when everyone else is working and I want people to travel the world with and see and enjoy what the world has to offer.
I teach people to start off using the ?Old school? ways because it works and it works much faster. Then after you start making a good amount of money I start to teach the ?New School? internet methods. As you follow me here and learn from what I have tried in the past you will see a big difference in the way that I teach and the way so many other money hungry marketers do. I am in this for the long haul and I want a group of people that I enjoy hanging around with to form a team that will expand around that globe.
